A man of extraordinary passion and determination in pursuit of the intended goal, who, with trainings, talent and love for acrobatics, has won the most important world trophy (in 5 years he won around 15 medals of the World and European Championships). Asked about his achievements, he usually smiles and says, “The most important thing is to do what you love – the rest will come with time.”
Maciej Pospieszynski developed his aviation passion from an early age. His interests were focused on acrobatics. At the age of 17, he started his glider training at the Warsaw Aero Club, where he quickly proved that he is a talented student. In 2000, he obtained permission to perform acrobatic feats (Unlimited). The following season he made his debut as the youngest player in Polish Championships. In 2004 he debuted in the European Championships – then his sports career has gained momentum.
In the following years, Maciej trained with outstanding coaches – Adam Michałowski, Tadeusz Mężyk and Jerzy Makula – winning medals of the Polish Championships, European Championships, and finally, in 2012 – the title of World Champion of Gliders in the Unlimited class and gold medals for the program known and program unknown. In the year 2014 Maciej won the title of World Champion for the second time, winning gold medals for free program and unknown program.
Maciej Pospieszynski is sometimes a crazy passionate running with his head in the clouds, always optimistic, and above all a person open to other people, a Master who willingly shares his knowledge with younger and less experienced players. In 2014, his student – Michał Andrzejewski won the title of Polish Champion in the Advanced class. Maciej Pospieszynski and Michał Andrzejewski formed the AVIOMET Aerobatics Team on two gliders – the only one in Poland and one of the few in the world. The Acrobatic Group has enjoyed great success and recognition, not only among audience participating in the shows, but also with other pilots presenting their skills. This year, Maciej changes to the world’s best aerobatic plane Extra 330 SC, purchased by Qualitium motor oil, which has plans to “start” for further titles.
